Agriturismo Explained     Close this window ‘Agriturismi’ (‘agriturismo’ in the singular) are holiday residences which offer a way to relax and experience the Italian way of life in authentic country surroundings. All our agriturismi are farmhouses which offer a combination of wholesome food and a refined country atmosphere that is unique to Southern Italy. Eating at an agriturismo is one of the great pleasures of Cognoscenti holidays. The ingredients are fresh every day and meals are traditionally home cooked. This does mean that choice is often limited and there is usually only one sitting. However, we think this is a small price to pay for the charm of staying in an intimate, family run hotel. If this is not to your taste, please take a look at our selection of luxury hotels or consider staying in an agriturismo on a B&B or self-catering basis. Please also bear in mind that you are likely to encounter friendly animals at these farms. Agriturismi are not subject to the usual Government “star” ratings.
